Industry Health and Safety Review Survey

Following the recent publication of a ‘Prevention of Future Deaths’ report in relation to a fatality in February 2016 and the second, recent, death of another climbing arborist, the Association takes seriously its role to work with industry to discover what steps could be taken to lessen the likelihood of a similar accident happening in future.

Your feedback is critical in helping us to work with our partner organisations, including HSE and chainsaw manufacturers, to determine the best way forward.

In both instances, young, fit, qualified and experienced climbing arborists lost their lives while working in the tree operating top handled chainsaws. Both were 32 years old. In both cases, kickback is suspected (but not conclusively confirmed) as being the cause of the fatal cut injuries to the neck. For more information read more.

Please respond by Friday 31st March.
