ISSUE 37

MARCH 2016

From the CEO

Karen Martin - CEO

Spring is here with sunshine, blue skies daffodils. At last! Its so much easier to plan the ARB Show on a sunny day and visit Westonbirt to size up the grounds, and whilst it seems like a long way off plans and schedules for the Autumn conference are also well underway. Membership renewals are now online and alongside the facility to use direct debit members are making great use of these two new facilities. Thanks to all of you who have renewed.

This time last year I asked the question "which government department (minister) takes full responsibility for urban trees?“ Well now we know. Thanks to the endeavours of Lord Framlingham and approaches to Minsters I am delighted to announce that Rory Stewart has identified that he is the Minister responsible for Urban trees. Great progress, and as I write representatives of the AA are in dialogue with him over a wide range of issues - more news to follow as the discussions develop.
