ISSUE 38

APRIL 2016

From the CEO

Karen Martin - CEO

I hope you all had a fantastic Easter break. As the temperatures slowly rise, our preparations for ARB Show 2016 continue at a good pace, with many new improvements being made based on your feedback in 2015. Plans for our 50th Annual conference are also taking shape – look out for more news in the near future. You may also want to check out the new and updated courses that have been introduced for 2016. Demand is running high – so book early!

Finally, on behalf of the AA may I send our continued best wishes to our dear friend and colleague Bill Matthews, who recently suffered an accident but is now making a good recovery in June’s capable hands. Get well soon Bill.

Introduction to soils

INTRODUCTION TO SOILS

Presented by Andy Moffat

Cost: Member: £150 | Non-member: £180

Urban tree maintenance is increasingly challenging in times of financial constraint. It’s now all the more important that tree establishment is correctly managed and planted in adequate amounts of suitable soil! Add issues such as climate change, and diseases such as Phytophthora and it’s evident that we must take the soil seriously if we are to continue to benefit from our urban trees.
